Soufriere Foundation Launches New Website

Soufriere, St. Lucia – On Wednesday 15, September 2010 the Board of Directors of the Soufriere Foundation and its management will be launching the organisation’s new and improved website, http://www.soufrierefoundation.org.  The new website is a direct response to residents request for a one stop location for information on Soufriere, the work of the organization and the end product of four months of analysis, research and design.  The new website which was designed and built by CGDesigns Inc, is a state of the art site that compares very favourably with the very best in the world.  Head of CGDesigns Inc, Chris Gardiner, claims that, “The Soufriere Foundation website is customer focused, user friendly, clean, attractive, and a must see.”  He goes on to say, “The three image slider panel on the home page now provides visitors quick access to any of the twelve (12) main sections on the site by simply clicking the left or right navigation arrows provided”.

According to Dominic Alexander, General Manager of the Soufriere Foundation, “Our website attempts to demystify the work of the organisation by showcasing its programmes and projects.  It is also a repository of information on Soufriere; information on which can be found within the About Soufriere and Discover Soufriere sections.  The About Soufriere section covers information on the town’s people, history, culture and geology and the Discover Soufriere section on the town’s tourist attractions, accommodation, dining, shopping and recreation.”

The new site provides users with current information on the organisation’s training initiatives and the ability to download application forms, grant funding request forms, scholarship applications, etc.  The Resources and Blog/News pages are two new and exciting additions to the site.  The Resources page abounds with hard to find publications and consultancy reports on the town and the Blog/News page brings into focus current community happenings.  In addition to the improvements in content, the graphic design and interface has been dramatically improved and a search bar and quick links section added for visitors who want to immediately go to a specific location and a visual navigation system for those who simply want to browse.

“The Soufriere Foundation is presently negotiating with the administrators of the Soufriere Library, Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School and the Soufriere Combined School to make the same their homepage.  If acceded to the users of this facility will have ready access to information on Soufriere at their fingertips.  Social Studies students in the Soufriere area and researchers stand to benefit immensely from the new website.  With just a click of a button users can have access to years of research,” Mr. Alexander states.
